A concept behind several collections, aiming to shine a light on African craftsmanship, all sharing the same identity:
that of an encounter between an unspoiled desert and the West: Ahmed Attaher, a nomadic Tuareg, and Mawena Takpa, a Paris-based Franco-Beninese designer.
He creates what she designs.
Our Da féline collection is a unisex jewelry line with Tuareg inspiration, entirely handcrafted in Agadez, Niger.
A union of kindred souls with the aim of conveying a return to human values, a bond between beings aspiring to return to a forgotten source.

To do so, Mawe Attaher will promote, through her communication, visuals, production and materials, a return to these fundamentals, now trampled for economic gain and profit.
To offer a concept, values the client will share, symbolised through a material object that brings them back to these fundamentals, soul forces, mentioned above.
To bring together free spirits, outsiders, kind-hearted people through a precious, ethnic, authentic object, reflecting our wish to pass on, spread, and progress towards a healthier and more harmonious world.

Each piece must be the visual sign of a wish to belong to the Indigo spirits: to echo pure, clairvoyant souls; who wish to return to the Earth, to the connection between beings.
Each piece of jewelry is a totem, shaped between the fingers of the nomad of Africa’s red earth, of Agadez.
“The black hand in the black night..” we see it.
A wish for coherence, unity, truth, authenticity.
A blending of two continents, but one people: human beings.
To claim the complementarity of these two cultures and their singular, antinomic riches, which together would lead to the blossoming of a harmonious, progressive world. –

Origine
Ahmed and I met when I was a child.
I lived with my ma-queen (Joe Neuvy), formerly an artistic agent, and Ahmed was one of her artists.
Every summer, Ahmed would fly from Agadez to join us, for several weeks, a few months.
This man fascinated me, with the appearance of a sultan, the embodiment of genius from Africa, crowned in silver and dressed in Indigo. Of rare elegance and gentleness, we quickly grew attached to one another.
We inspired each other.
Every summer, he saw me grown, and he, with the same appearance, continued to inspire me;
To this day, he was my only representation of Africa, since my father, through his rare presence, taught me far too little about my dual culture, Ahmed brought me its richness, and its elevation.
Africa, a part of my roots, identified with this friend, very quickly named “soul brother”.
The promise of an artistic connection led us down this path of creation, towards the union of our two names: Mawé Attaher.
